Ethanol Market: Who Are The Present Users Of Ethanol?
Ethanol has been around for many generations. In the older times, ethanol has been used for different purposes ranging from medicine, antiseptic, fuel and others. Over the years, the ethanol market expanded to include other users including industries, hospitals, households and others. Due to the every changing ethanol market, many manufactures of ethanol also evolved.
Some of these manufacturers focus their ethanol production for human consumption; some of them are more concerned about producing industrial grade ethanol while others produce wide ranges of ethanol to cater to different ethanol markets. Producing different grade of ethanol from the same source is not really a problem for most of these companies. Most of these companies have perfected the ethanol process so it is just a matter of making small adjustments here and there for them.
Transportation
At present, the transportation industry is considered as the largest ethanol market. Many motorists all over the world are now using ethanol or biofuel to power their vehicles. In Brazil, a large percentage of new cars sold in this country now use ethanol for fuel which made the ethanol market in this part of the world one of the largest. Since there is a very strong demand for ethanol in the ethanol market in Brazil, many companies in this country now venture into ethanol production.
However, since ethanol product requires steady supply of plant based raw materials, some companies cannot really produce enough of this product to meet the needs of the market. Many of these companies are now buying their raw materials from abroad which add a little to the cost of their products and increase the prices in the ethanol market.
Hospitals and Clinics
For many years, ethanol or ethyl alcohol has been used by hospital and clinics as disinfectants. Many hospitals and clinics all over the world rely on ethanol or ethyl alcohol to disinfect wounds, hospital equipments, utensils and others. At present, the demand for ethanol or ethyl alcohol is the medical industry has increased dramatically.
Many experts attributed this increase in consumption of ethanol or ethyl alcohol in the medical industry to the fact that more and more health care providers recommend the use of ethyl alcohol over other types of alcohol. Studies show that ethyl alcohol does not cause skin dryness compared to other types of medical grade alcohol thus most medical providers prefer to use this product. The increased consumption of ethanol in the medical industry helped expand the ethanol market worldwide.
