Learning About Ethanol Conversion
Ethanol conversion is an important process, one that anyone who lives in the world and cares about the environment today will want to learn more about. Before you can properly understand the process of ethanol conversion however, you will need to understand what ethanol is and what it is used for.
Ethanol is a renewable fuel, because it is produced from biomass, and it is beneficial when compared to regular fossil fuel for a number of reasons. For one, it burns more clearly and completely than gasoline or diesel fuel for that matter, and as well it reduces greenhouse gas emissions significantly which is a major deal what with the environmental issues we are facing today.
Another favorable feature of ethanol conversion and the ethanol produced is ethanol cost. Ethanol is very inexpensive to produce, and in fact it is made from wastes from the most part such as plant waste, so it is really recycling things that otherwise simply would have gone to waste.
Convert Your Car
If you want to go through with ethanol conversion so that your car can run on ethanol, and the first step is to take your car to a mechanic and have it tuned up and properly checked. You really want to make sure that it is in the best condition possible before going through and converting it to ethanol fuel.
Now you need to purchase an ethanol conversion kit, which will help to get you started, and decide whether you want your car to be flex-fuel or just ethanol, or even a combination of the two. Once you have installed the kit you will need to get your car on a regular schedule, meaning take it for a few drives with the ethanol fuel before it will start working properly.
Also make sure that you keep an eye on your spark plugs because as with all other alternative fuels, the spark plugs may misfire when you are using the ethanol fuel but as long as you keep an eye on them you should be fine.
Ethanol conversion is a very important matter and easy enough to do as long as you go about it the right way. Also keep in mind that if you are ever having problems with converting your vehicle to ethanol fuel, there are many other resources out there that you can use and which will help to make the process as easy for you as possible.
